About

Within the SCA my name is Lady Ursula von Memmingen, and I’ve been playing in the SCA in Lochac (in the Barony of Innilgard) since 2003.

My main love in the SCA is research of and experimentation relating to the material culture of the middle ages and early modern period, with a particular emphasis on late 15th and 16th century German garb (especially the Swabian and Bavarian styles).  However, occasionally other stuff randomly pops up, like Roman or Norman, just to keep people guessing 🙂

Mundanely, I am currently undertaking a PhD in Anthropology, in which I am examining the way dress, dressing and representations of dress contributed to personal and group identity and social ties within Southern Germany during the sixteenth century.
